Los Angeles-based Diagnostic Automation/Cortez Diagnostics, Inc. offers a OneStep Leishmania Serum RapiDip Insta Test (strip) which is a test for Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL).  The Leishmania Rapid Test is a rapid immunochromatographic strip assay for the qualitative detection of antibodies to members of L. donovani in human serum.  The Leishmania Rapid Test is for the aid in presumptive diagnosis of VL.  The Leishmania Serum Rapid Test is for professional in-vitro diagnostic use only, and is not intended for use in blood donor centers or blood component manufacturers.

Sensitivity and Specificity evaluations from performance studies:  Sensitivity 89.8% to 100% and Specificity 93% to 100%.
