Lupine ELISA kit description:

Diagnostic Automation Inc. offers a Lupine ELISA Kit that is an Enzyme Immunoassay for the Quantitative determination of Lupine/Lupin in Food. This Lupine ELISA Kit is a rapid and sensitive Food Allergen ELISA Kit which is designed to provide a sensitive and convenient method for screening food samples for lupine/lupin residues. This Lupine ELISA Kit represents a highly sensitive Food Allergen ELISA Kit detection system for lupine and is particularly capable of the quantification of residues in sausage, bakery products, potato products, ketchup, and juices.

Materials Provided with Lupine ELISA Kit:
1. Microtiter plate: 12 strips with 8 breakable wells coated with anti-lupine antibodies
2. Lupine Standards (0; 2; 5; 15; 30 ppm of lupine): 5 vials with 1.0 mL each
3. Conjugate (anti-lupin-peroxidase): 15 mL
4. Substrate Solution (TMB): 15 mL
5. Stop Solution (0.5 M H2SO4): 15 mL
6. Extraction and sample dilution buffer (Tris): 2 x
7. Washing Solution (PBS + Tween 20): 60 mL as 10x
8. Plastic bag to store unused microtiter strips.
9. Instruction Manual

Materials required but not provided:
1. Freshly distilled or deionized water
2. Dispensing system and/or pipette
3. EIA kit Microplate washer
4. EIA kit Microplate Reader with 450nm wavelength

Lupine ELISA Kit Background Information:
Lupine/Lupin belongs to the legume family. With about 35-45%, the fraction of proteins in lupine seed is very high. Some of these proteins are known for being allergenic, due to cross-reaction to allergens of soy and peanut. Because of its convenient nutritional properties the use of lupine flour as a food ingredient is highly increasing. Lupine is often used in dietary products, especially for milk allergic people, vegetarians and patients with celiac disease. In food production three (sweet) lupin species are commonly used: Lupinus albus, Lupinus angustifolius and Lupinus luteus. For lupine allergic persons, hidden lupine allergens in food are a critical problem. Already very low amounts of lupine can cause allergic reactions, which may lead to anaphylactic shock in severe cases. Thus, sensitive detection systems, like this Lupine ELISA Kit for lupine residues in foods are required.

Lupine ELISA Kit Test Principle:
The Lupine ELISA test is a quantitative test based on the principle of the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. An antibody directed against lupine proteins is bound on the surface of a microtiter plate.

Diagnostic Automation Inc offers several popular Food Allergen ELISA Kits: Egg Protein Residue in Food ELISA Kit, Soy Protein Residue Detection in Food ELISA Kit, Lupine ELISA Kit, Mustard ELISA Kit, Peanut ELISA Kit, Soy ELISA Kit, Almond ELISA Kit, Gluten ELISA Kit, Walnut ELISA Kit, and Milk Protein Residue Detection in Food ELISA Kit. Product Note:

Diagnostic Automation, Inc.  Lupine ELISA kit contains reagents for 96 determinations. They have to be stored at 2-8C. Expiry data are printed on the labels of the bottles and the outer package. The ready-to-use standards including (0; 2; 5; 15; 30 ppm of lupine) are prepared for a direct determination of sample concentrations. The dilution of samples in the extraction process is described in the package insert under sample preparation procedure. Additional dilution due to high sample concentration has to be accounted for.
